Skied upper Cassian with a bit of fresh snow. Grooming and tracks holding nicely. Noticed a wee bit of stubble in a few of the more recently logged areas, but nothing that would merit B skis. Groomers do a super job even when the snow isn't as deep as we'd like; thanks, RASTA! Oneida County skiing always worth the drive. Enjoy!

Skied the whole trail with a car shuttle starting at lower Washburn (love how the systems connect!) and ending at Cassian's Beaver Lake lot. I would recommend skipping the section between County K and Timber Lake Road right now because the bridge and the swamp were a little rough. Everything else was real nice, although the tracks on both sides were set perhaps a bit too close to the edge of the trail...lots of branches to dodge.

The Cassian classic trail was tracked this morning. As with Nose Lake and Washburn the tracks appear the same way. Skiers will find some nice tracks, and there will be some thin spots. Most of these undesirable areas will be found in and around recent logging activity. Based on these results, you may want to leave the good skis at home.

Good snow coverage, no tracks are set but a beautiful ski with the typical light traffic on these great out and back trails. We skied from Timber lake road north.

Got back to working on the base today. Yesterday's snow was minimal, 2-3" of fluff. Due to the recent meltdown, the original base got pretty icy and hard. The groomers just laid down corduroy today, no tracks. The deck is paper thin, and keep in mind the underlying base is icy. Keep the good skis at home, and use only your B skis.
