[ Trails Open: All, Rock skis ]
We got skiing around 1:00 today. Wolf lake features nice trails and scenic terrain, but unfortunately, it is clear that the warm weather and wind have taken a hit on the trails. On the better parts of the trail, the tracks were well-groomed as well as reasonably deep and firm. However, a large part of the trail was littered with debris and had exposed earth poking through. Most of the red trail had pretty good tracks, but the yellow loop seemed to take the bulk of the damage, especially on the hills. The kick wax we brought was basically useless, but we were still able to force out 9k. Overall, we managed to get a good workout in!

Grooming

Two inches of snow Sunday and 1.5 inches last night. Groomed all trails before 8am and set a new track with decent results. B skis on the Old Pine Loop due to pine debris showing through. Others sections looking good.

1/2 inch snow yesterday. Re-set track with not the greatest results. Sometimes an old, skied-in track is better than trying to set a new track with dry, frozen snow clods. I had some of that today. I pulled up some rock on the two way hill just beford Old Pine Loop (on the uphill side). Less debris showing with the light snow!

Tracks were set nice and deep which made the hills on the north end fun. There were lots of oak leaves on the trail that slowed things down a bit.

Trail conditions were nice, some fresh snow would be helpful but climbing grip was fine and classic tracks were firm and deep.

Crisp air, blue ski, no wind, and well-groomed trails. What could be better? Thanks for the repairs and well-laid track, Brian!

Groomed all trail segments and set track after 2 inch snowfall Saturday night. Debris was covered up from fresh snow. Great conditions. Crow Wing County just posted this trail system as Grant-in-Aid trail, so a state ski pass is now required.

A great ski day at Wolf Lake. Plenty of snow, deep classic tracks. A few of the tracks were wiped out on some of the tight turns, otherwise, almost perfect.

Conditions were really good for the amount of snow available. Classic skied and there were no bare spots with the approx. 5 inches of fresh snow they received from Thursday/Friday. Trails were freshly groomed and in great shape - definitely worth the travel if you're hoping to find good ski conditions. The outside loop was a lot of fun!

3-4 inches of new, wet, sticky snow. Set track on all trails in 33 degree warmth. After a cool night the track should be firm and fast!
