Trail conditions were nice, some fresh snow would be helpful but climbing grip was fine and classic tracks were firm and deep.

Crisp air, blue ski, no wind, and well-groomed trails. What could be better? Thanks for the repairs and well-laid track, Brian!

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Groomed all trail segments and set track after 2 inch snowfall Saturday night. Debris was covered up from fresh snow. Great conditions. Crow Wing County just posted this trail system as Grant-in-Aid trail, so a state ski pass is now required.

A great ski day at Wolf Lake. Plenty of snow, deep classic tracks. A few of the tracks were wiped out on some of the tight turns, otherwise, almost perfect.

Conditions were really good for the amount of snow available. Classic skied and there were no bare spots with the approx. 5 inches of fresh snow they received from Thursday/Friday. Trails were freshly groomed and in great shape - definitely worth the travel if you're hoping to find good ski conditions. The outside loop was a lot of fun!

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
3-4 inches of new, wet, sticky snow. Set track on all trails in 33 degree warmth. After a cool night the track should be firm and fast!

The trails are still in pretty good shape. The deer activity (on the outer loop) is noteworthy, but no reason to stay away. More snow would certainly be helpful, but the regular gooming during the past few weeks has kept these trails very enjoyable.

Most sections are good condition. Deer have been rutting up acorns heavy in some areas. The cut-over area (so sad to see those big pines harvested) is rough and I picked a few rocks off. Need more snow, but still enjoyable and worth the trip.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Reset track on all trails. When the snow base was too thin in areas (like Old Pine Loop) I raised the track setter and gave the trail sections smooth corduroy but with some debris showing through.

Skied all trail sections today. Track is fair overall considering usage and lack of snow. Deer are digging up acorns for food on Shelter trail on two or three short sections but one can easily ski over the churned up snow and leaves that have been dug up. My plans are to re-track all trails on Friday.
