Observation
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Last Saturday, the trails were impacted by an ice storm with rain and snow. The ¼ inch coating of ice on everything brought down several trees, branches, and left trees hanging into the trail. The trails are impassable and not groomable, and we are lacking the work crews to clear the trails currently. It would be a great backcountry ski adventure if you do venture out.

We were finally able to get the 24" of new fluff worked into the trail! The tracks look gorgeous and the trail is in peak shape. This trail is a great spot with fun rolling terrain that is good for all skill levels. Enjoy!

Very good conditions although new snow incorporated into track by skier use made tracks slightly shallow. This and low temperatures reduced glide and made for slower skiing. Solid pole plants with a couple inches of fluffy snow on base. No significant debris in tracks. It started to snow during our ski, and the wind was picking up. This likely will result in some drifting over the tracks.

Grooming

Groomed in about 4-5" of new snow and reset the tracks. The tracks came out looking very nice. With the cold temperatures the trail should set up beautifully! Come out and enjoy this wonderful trail this weekend.

Great blue wax day with an inch or two of fresh and cold temps. Tracks had been set several days ago, and skiing was still great. The 3k loop had been skied before the fresh of this morning, other sections had a bit more snow since they had been skied. But, it was not a problem, the tracks were still great. There was just one short section where drifting had obscured the tracks. These classic-only tracks are a small gem (3k, 5k, 8k loops) with wonderful flowing terrain that is perfect for classic.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Penokee received about 4 inches of new snow this past week. All loops were groomed and tracked today. The base is deep and mostly solid. There may be some soft spots especially on the edges. It’s a great trail to check out! The tracks were already solid when I was packing up to leave!

Tons of snow hit the trail earlier this week. New snow totals were around 20 inches! Spent Thursday packing the trail and finished grooming it Friday. Overall the trail is in beautiful condition with a good deck and nice deep tracks. With the cold everything should firm up nicely. If you are new to skiing or looking for a great spot to take the family on a more mellow trail, this is a great option. The trail is also open to snowshoeing and skijoring! Enjoy:).
