Trail Reports

2020-2021 season
Reports 1 to 4 of 4    Month: Feb | Jan

Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Very good conditions, freshly groomed this morning. Tracks a bit shallow in a few spots but in good shape and fairly firm considering the recent grooming. Very few leaves. Skate deck had some walker traffic. Less hilly than Terrace Oaks so less wind chill on the downhills.

Observation
[ Trails Open: All ]
Thought it might be a bit cold to ski so I took a hike (stayed to the far left of the trail!). I normally don't ski here because they are multi-use trails and are often overrun with walkers and off-leash dogs. Today, I didn't see a soul on the trail. The tracks actually looked pretty good. There weren't too many leaves, just some here and there. The skate deck, while it had walker footprints in many places, was firm with no huge divots. It made me wish I had brought my skis. Maybe tomorrow.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Both
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
This was the first time I visited this Burnsville park. The trails were recently rolled; however, they were well packed by walkers and dogs. Dogs were all off leash so caution is advised. While no rocks were encountered, exposed leaves and a few twigs appeared here and there. If you enjoy Terrace Oaks, also in Burnsville, the trails here are similar — wooded and rolling. All in all a pleasant place to ski.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: All, Rock skis ]
A hidden gem, completely wooded and fresh grooming. Multi-use trail with compact snow. Pleasantly surprised.
