Grooming
[ Trails Open: Most, B skis ]
Partially groomed Sunday, skate-only. Conditions looked best in the 'forest loop,' but still 'B' skiis. Keep an eye out for a downed tree that partially blocks the trail. 55th St. loop looked very thin and had a sheet of glaze ice on one of the hills. Rock skis.

Essex was rolled this morning. Prairie loops both north and south there is grass and ice exposed. Advise avoiding those trails in the open prairie. The east woods, "Hadley's Hill", the Trail from H--- and the trail from the north playground down the the bike path and old archery range are very skiable and out of the wind.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Essex was groomed this morning. Skate deck is thin in spots. Trails in the woods, the old archery range and north prairie loops are in pretty good shape. The classic tracks were thin, icy and dirty in spots so were taken out. Should be OK skiing before it gets too warm.

Overall solid condition. Upper section little lacking of snow in some locations. Classic tracks deteriorated in locations as well, but fun to get out!

Trails are groomed for skate and classic. Snow is very sticky, so good for a rigorous workout! Trails also have some leaves/grass and dog/hiker tracks.

Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Very icy this morning, but already starting to thaw anywhere the sun hits. All trails are still skiable, but dirt, sticks, and grass are starting to poke through anywhere that gets much sun. It appears to have been groomed ~2 days ago, so it's pretty tracked up, especially in the icy areas.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Essex was groomed on Wednesday and the snow is good with all trails open. A few spots have some grass or dirt coming up where animals have dug, but they're easy to ski around. The wooded areas are especially nice!

New to Rochester skiing. Skied all the trails found them to be in good early season condition. Could use some snow to freshen things up. I used my good skis, but had to work around some dirt spots on some downhills and corners. Really not bad.

Essex was groomed and tracks set on Wednesday afternoon. Skate deck is in great shape with some thin spots on top of wind exposed hills. Tracks in the woods and south prairie loops are good. Tracks were not set on the 55 St. loop.
