Mixed 1-2 inches of new snow and tilled base for a smooth, fast track. A few branches from the wind, but all is snow covered and slippery. Beautiful in the woods.

Classic trails were groomed and in phenomenal condition. From what I could see the skating trails were in great condition as well. My first time here and what a great place to ski!

The School Forest trail system received about 2" of wet snow Thursday night. Not as much as we'd hoped for but enough to really improved the conditions. All skate lanes were groomed and all classic tracks were re-set Friday afternoon. Trails will be in great shape for the weekend. The trail conditions are probably the best they've been in a couple weeks. Bundle-up and enjoy the new snow!

[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Tracks are set and skate lanes groomed on all trails. The deer are rutting up areas looking for food and beds. Oak leaves are getting dispersed on a few areas of trail. Watch for sticking to wax areas of skis. Mostly in great shape.

Fresh, fluffy snow made the trails absolutely gorgeous this morning. Another pair of skiers said they were sticking on their waxless skis, but our group of four didn't have issues on ours.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Conditions were excellent for striding and skating with solid classical track and adequate snow on the skate deck. 24 degrees and great glide with Extra Blue kick wax. Trail "A" was tree debris free, while the higher letter trails (especially "F" ) had the occasional stray oak leaf. There were a few places where deer hooves had exposed piles of leaves, but they were easily avoided.

Very good conditions: Skate Lanes have few areas messed up by deer digging for acorns. Classic tracks have some sections with exposed leaves and exposed gravel for a short section in the return lane near the gate. The lodge will be closed New Years day; open Noon - 4:00pm Sunday January 2.
