With last skiable snow on April 12th, the offseason at IHS trails was a mere 191 days! Seconding Keith's comments that the trails were surprisingly skiable. I slapped a little liquid fluor on my skis before heading out and had few clumping problems. Definitely don't let the skis sit still long. With around freezing temps overnight, I'm doubtful the skied-in track will be iced up in the morning but may be worth a shot.

Skied with fishscales at 5pm. Surprisingly good. If I'd had my optigrips with I would have used them. Good coverage. 2nd and 3rd laps a lot more fun once I had some tracks. Could be really nice in the morning if the temperature drops a bit. The trail has been mowed all summer, so there is good coverage everywhere. Watch out for squirrels...I actually ran over a squirrel that was digging in the snow. I looked down and saw him as I skied right over him (her?). Don't worry, he ran off and was OK. Note: The lights haven't been installed yet for the winter.
