Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
The colder temperatures after recent thawing made for challenging grooming conditions this morning. Randy tilled and combed the skate lane with decent results. He was unable reset the classic track at this time but we hope to try it again later in the week.

Both the freestyle and traditional track were reset this morning. Thanks to our volunteer Randy Athens for braving through the extreme cold on the Scandic. Good luck to all skiing the Birkie this weekend.

14" base trail is groomed and tracked. Should set up well tonight, when the temperature is higher we should be able to set deeper tracks.

Grooming Secondhand
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
The trail was last groomed on Monday, both the skate lane and the striding track. The trail was holding up well as of mid week according to one of our volunteer groomers who had skied it. We plan on grooming again likely Saturday when the wind and extremely cold temperatures moderate.

Morning
Firsthand: Classic
[ Good skis ]
I tried skiing starting at the south end of the trail (from the parking lot off of Hwy 45) and the trail didn't appear to have been groomed at all on that end. I realize you have to go a little ways from the parking lot to get to the start of the ski trail, but even once the trail headed into the woods there was no grooming that appeared to have been done.

Groomed and tracked very good conditions. Snowshoers should use the snowshoe trails and try not to walk on the skating deck.

Excellent conditions. Jim did all the grooming and he is rocking as a new Volunteer. He set track and groomed and made nice flat skiing deck.

Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
The trails were groomed to perfection. All the ski trails seem to be littered with a few oak leaves this year. With the sun out and no wind, it was a perfect day to ski. Big thanks to the excellent grooming.
