Afternoon
Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
After yesterday's prep I was able to get our groomer out late this afternoon. We have a nice firm base and deep, well formed tracks. With tonight's forecasted low temps the the tracks should be hard and durable for awhile. I feel conditions will be excellent. Many thanks to the lady who was about to ski on the new tracks with her dog for deciding to not ski so the tracks would not be compromised.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
It finally cooled off enough last night to get the grooming equipment out. All trails are leveled and tracked. Had to use the drag and tracking sled so there are some tracks where there usually are not and vice versa. Conditions look like they should be great.

Night
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Arrived at the trail head as Bob was finishing grooming. The grooming was fantastic as always, with a firm deck and solid pole plants. The woods are laden with snow, another beautiful ski in Land O!

Groomed all trails late this afternoon. With the few inches of new snow last night conditions look like they will be excellent. Tracks are deep and well formed and we have a nice solid base.

Great skiing Tuesday afternoon. Nice work grooming with well set tracks. Bob does a great job of knowing where to pick up the tracks!

Evening
Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
After the last dump of snow the stars finally aligned and I was able to run our groomer this evening. The trails had been quite skiable after packing, dragging, and setting a rudimentary track but now it looks like conditions will be excellent with well formed tracks and a firm base. The woods are beautiful.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
It cooled down enough last night to allow me to get out and groom the East Side Trails this morning. The groomer smoothed out the clumps of snow that dropped from the trees and buried most of the tree litter that fell in the last couple of days of warm weather. It appears that conditions should be very good although the tracks may not set up much with the warm weather. The West Side tracks firmed up nicely on last Friday night and remain it good shape. Happy Holidays to all.

Grooming

Widened and tracked the West Side Friday and did the East Side this morning. Skied the West Side late afternoon Friday. By widening the trail we pulled a bit more snow on the trail so there are some soft spots but still very good conditions.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Attempted to groom this afternoon but the engine on our grooming snowmobile locked up. At the shop till after Christmas but we hope to come up with an alternative power source to groom before the weekend.
Skied the West side trails after taking in the snowmobile. There are 2-3 inches of light snow on the trail. Tracks are not crisp as they would be after grooming but are still well defined and usable. Conditions were very good although there is an occasional soft spot. The woods are gorgeous and with a little loose snow on the trail, it is a very intimate northwoods ski.

We skied the east side trails Friday night and they were outstanding! Classic only, tracks were firm and groomed expertly. An intimate narrower trail that was a joy to ski. A magical night with light new snow falling.
