Trail Detail
Notes
The East Trails travel through a forest dominated by evergreens with terrain that is gentle and rolling and suitable for skiers of all abilities. The West Trails travel through a forest of primarily hardwoods and offer more hills and winding runs through the natural hilly terrain.Trail Reports

Groomed the trails this evening. It looks like conditions should be excellent. Tracks are as good as they can be. The trees are covered but not loaded with snow from the last snowfall so it is gorgeous out. Temps look great. Appears to be about as good as it can get.

Packed the trails this morning after yesterday's snow. Nothing is tracked but the snow is nice. Grooming plans: With more snow forecast today we will pack the trails and set a track Wednesday morning. Since the trail will not be hard packed with the new snow tracks will be set everywhere including hills and sharp corners. We will groom again before the weekend.

First time skiing these trails, which have been on my list for awhile. All open trails had great tracks and conditions. (Some of the east side trails are closed because of logging operations.) Generally moderate terrain with one most difficult loop. Enjoyed the open hardwood forest on the west side and the white pines on the east side. The broad forest views contrast with the more dense forest on the trails at nearby Sylvania Outfitters to give two very different, and both wonderful, ski experiences. And both places are groomed well... The track is pulled as needed.

Groomed trails Friday evening after getting a few inches of snow. Conditions look to be excellent. With sub-zero temps the tracks should hold up well until the next snow. Due to timber harvest activity less than a mile of the East Side Trail is open.

The couple of inches of snow allowed a fresh grooming of the trails. The trail worked up well and conditions should be great. The litter that has been slowly showing over the long dry spell should not be an issue. Good riddance to those pesky Hemlock cones and so long to at least most of the Oak leaves. The 0.4 mile section of the East side trail that was plowed is packed and will be skiable but there is not enough snow to track this section. The 1 mile loop is groomed.

Another fun classic only trail system. Bob does a great job of grooming and laying down great tracks. Mostly easy trails with a few intermediate hills. East side has some logging going on so some of trail is closed. There is a connecting trail to Sylvania wilderness trails. The UPers have a saying "No such thing as bad weather only bad clothing." After a week of very cold temps, I agree only bad clothing!

Groomed all trails. With the new snow from a couple of days ago things worked up nicely. Tracks are as good as they can be and the deck is firm.

Dragged and tracked the trail this morning and groomed this evening. Tracks and deck look great and with cold weather things should set up nicely. Looks like the conditions will be excellent for the weekend.

Packed and tracked all trails tonight to take care of the 4-5" of snow we got in the last 24 hours. Full depth tracks everywhere. Depending on how it sets tonight, the trails could be a little soft. Conditions look to be very good.
