Grooming
[ Trails Open: Partial, Good skis ]
Prelude Loops (about 2.5.K if you ski everything), are packed, groomed and have a track set. Flat groomed up to "D" and head left to hook up with downhill from Red Pine. We got over 10 inches of snow since last Sunday and it was and is hard to keep up. Still haven't packed beyond "D" junction, will need to pack and pack with snowmobile only before I can groom any further. Snow in the trees, trail is beautiful. Happy New Year.

Morning
Firsthand: Classic Secondhand
[ Trails Open: Most, Good skis ]
There was a nice somewhat shallow track set and packed skate lane. The conditions were very good. Not prime mid-season but more than adequate. The Lake loop is open down to junction I. We did not personally ski that section but we talked with someone who has just finished and she gave a positive report. We skied the Prelude section with grandkids ages 8-11.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: Most, B skis ]
Finished packing and grooming 3-4 inches of new snow that we got Monday night. Set track on the Prelude Loops, Lake loop, and up to "i" junction on the Tower Loop; about 7-8 K groomed and tracked. Track may still be a little thin under the pines. Trails are still quite pretty with snow in the tree branches. Happy Holidays.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: Partial, B skis ]
Groomer Tom packed and tracked Prelude loops and Lake Loop to Red Pine junction. 3" of new snow on 2 inch base packed from Pincherry to I junction is also enjoyable skiing and will likely be freshly packed and tracked today. Go ski in a winter wonderland! Push back brush and pick up sticks.

Skate lane is pleasantly packed, classic tracks ok on Prelude loops. Broke back branches and picked up sticks. More to do with clippers or small hand saw.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: Partial, B skis ]
Got about 3-4 inches of new snow on the trails after the rain on Wednesday, that's the good news; bad news is the rain and snow resulted in lots of overhanging branches and limbs over parts of the trail. Whack the limbs with your ski pole, maybe some will straighten up or bring a pruning snips with you while skiing and cut the lowest ones after they hit you in the face. I groomed from the trailhead up the Lake Loop to Red Pine and back down and set a track, (not the best), on the Prelude Loops. Please help by picking up branches off the trail. Thanks.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: Partial, Good skis ]
Groomer Tom outdid himself packing and then flat packing Prelude loops and Lake loops to H. Skate skiing was the best all season so far. A few ruts and bumps but snow is forgiving not icy. And then he headed out to pack from H to Tower End! Hurray, Tom! Go Ski!

Grooming
[ Trails Open: Most, B skis ]
8-9 inches of new snow on Monday. I had to pack before I could groom. Finished packing and grooming today from trailhead, Prelude Loops, Lake Loops to Lower Junction to "H " Junction, to Red Pine, and back all flat groomed; no tracks set yet. Fresh powder from "H" to Tower End for you backcountry enthusiasts, should be good skiing tomorrow.

Observation
[ Trails Open: All ]
I hiked the entire system over the past two days clearing branches and blowdowns from recent wind and snowstorm. Two inches of skiable snow with patches of brown or icy snow. Not groomed yet. Lots of needles and leaves, but hey it is only November! Very beautiful scenic trail. A joy to spend time out in those big woods!
