Located close to town behind the Hayward Area Memorial Hospital, the 7.5 miles of trails are a mix of flat and easy rolling terrain, winding around a lake and through pines and hardwoods.

Grooming

The entire HASTA trail system was groomed Sunday morning. The minimal 1-2 inches of heavy snow froze up Saturday night and provided sufficient additional snow to set new tracks. Because there wasn't more snow some of the tracks are a bit thin but generally they are pretty good.

Trail is packed with good coverage. Few thin spots which are easy to avoid. Tracks were shallow, looked like trail crew were doing mechanical work on the groomer at noon. Many people out enjoying a beautiful day.

Afternoon

The Hayward Hospital Trail loops were rolled this morning. They are a little soft, but really quite good. They have not been tracked as of this afternoon, but there are skied-in tracks. Lots of skiers were starting out as I was finishing...beautiful day !

Evening

The trails are rolled. Tracks are not set but some nice skied in tracks are there to follow. I didn't run into anything that would damage a ski. Seemed like plenty of snow. Very nice for an evening ski.
