Grooming Scheduling
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Fantastic conditions. Been an incredible week of skiing, fat biking and snowshoeing. Daily grooming continues including an entire re-groom of the entire trail system on 85km of trail including both singletrack fat bike loops. We have 30km of groomed riding options for fat biking. 65km of skiing on 15km skate groomed, 55km tracked with singletrack only, double track only and 5km of skate and classic. Frost continues to provide snow glob conditions with a half inch or so falling to the deck each day. Touch up grooming on through the weekend as needed. Note: We will be grooming on the Section courses Sunday afternoon and evening. Trails for those races will be closed Sunday afternoon, Monday morning and Tuesday for the Section races. There will be over 60km of other trails open for skiing and the Twin Lakes singletrack will be open on Tuesday for fat biking. Wednesday everything open again.

Skied most classic trails over a long weekend and all trails were in excellent condition--temps in the low to mid 20's with plenty of snow. The cookies and the food were the usual excellent. Everything came together to make for a great weekend of skiing.

Plenty of snow at Maplelag. I classic skied the North Loup, using Zero skis, and they worked very well. The Maplelag trails are in great shape.

Around the clock grooming on the ski and fat bike trails have the trails in great shape for weekend winter play. Has been a awesome week of skiing and grooming. Temps have stayed below freezing all week. We have been grooming at night the past few days with the high humidity to allow the trails to set up as much as possible. There are still some soft spots, in particular the drifted areas which are 3-4 feet deep of base but the damp air making for silky like skiing. Skate trails being groomed again this evening, touch up grooming as needed tomorrow evening.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Trails are starting to take shape after 14" of snow the past week. Grooming up very nice, still a bit soft but everyone has been happy with the conditions. It took a while to groom out the plethora of singletrack trails with the large drifts encountered in areas. We will continue daily grooming this week, cleaning up all trails and paying a bit more attention to the Section courses that are now open for inspection. The fat bike trail still needs some grooming and hopefully by end of week the riding improves.

I classic skied mid-morning to early afternoon. The trails were in excellent condition. A blue wax day! Jay has done a phenomenal job with the amount of snow Maplelag has received over the past several days. The pic attached is from the Twin Lakes Trail.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
We have been grooming daily on the trail system, anywhere from 30-70 kilometer a day. Today we reset all the double track classic only trails mid morning, cleaning out the tracks and combed all the skate only trail. Bootleg singletrack for fat biking was also groomed this morning after the Twin Lakes singletrack was groomed last night. Wind and snow filling in the tracks but people are out skiing and enjoying the fresh conditions. We will be back out tonight a bit and again in the morning grooming in any new snow. With potential wind, we will focus on the inner trails and Twin Lakes double track classic only outer trail.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Around 3" of new snow overnight. We groomed all the skate trails and double track trails this morning and working on the singletrack trails this afternoon. Just came in for lunch now. We should have the entire trail system groomed by 5pm today. We received a call this morning asking if the trails will be groomed today. We have groomed every day since December 12th except Christmas day. Sometimes we only groom 1-2 trails a day, sometimes the entire system. Sometimes we will groom early morning, sometimes during the day or sometimes late at night. It all depends on snowfall, skier traffic and the most important element to us, the dew point. With that said, we will continue daily grooming on the entire trail system up to the weekend. New snow mixed in with the existing base making for top notch conditions and skiing. The fat bike loops have been seeing a lot of grooming action as well, including this afternoon, and are riding fantastic.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Good to excellent conditions. We renovated and reset all the double track trails this morning/last night. Last night we renovated and combed all the skate trails. Personally I would use good skis on the above trails. All the singletrack classic trails were renovated, widened in key areas and reset on Wednesday. Some scattered organic matter and a few minor drifted areas from big wind Wednesday night gets B ski rating but again, personally I would have no problem using good skis. Twin Lakes singletrack groomed for fat biking yesterday afternoon and conditions are excellent, best of year. Skate trails open this weekend for fat biking as well. With cooler temps in place, a great weekend of winter play on tap!

Firsthand: Classic Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Excellent conditions. No melting or icing. We renovated and reset all the double track trails this morning and renovated and combed all the skate trails. North Loup we worked on widening and packing down the edges. Grooming cleaned up the tracks from the organic forest matter that came down from yesterday's wind. The singletrack classic trails are skiing great, just the occasional twig leaf etc. I skied both the freshly groomed and trails groomed Sunday and was using my best skis but have the B ski rating for those more particular. We will be grooming most of the singletrack classic trails, widening and leveling than resetting track. Wednesday afternoon we plan on grooming for the DL Invite ski race on Sap Run, Mother North Star, Skaters Waltz and Suicide Hill. These trails will be closed during that time and also closed during races on Thursday. However, all other trails will be open for over 50km of skiing options. We also have the Twin Lakes singletrack in good shape for fat biking after multiple grooming passes.
