Snowfall past 24 hours 1-2", 48 hour storm total:13, snow depth in woods 20-30". 120km of grooming logged today between the groomers on entire 70km trail system. 55km tracked, 15km groomed skate only. We will be back out in the morning structuring the skate lanes and resetting select classic trail. We will also be setting a track on the side of North Loup for the first time this year. With all the recent heavy snow, there is slush on the lake crossings that should freeze down hard tonight with temps near single digits. Overall excellent skiing, winter wonderland conditions.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
100% open on 90km of trail. 50km tracked for classic only skiing, 15km groomed skate only and 5km designated as adventure skiing with skier made track. 20km of separate fat bike trail.
The trails survived the warm weather over the weekend just fine and skiing has been reported good to excellent. A few south facing areas not groomed today glazed and a couple bumpy/choppy spots on the outer trails the only negatives. Overall plenty of positives for great skiing. We groomed all the skate trails this morning than touched up Skaters Waltz again this evening. This morning Sap Run and Sukkerbusk were renovated and new tracks set. At dusk we groomed those trails again. Skiing was very good to excellent on trails groomed today. Tomorrow morning we plan to be renovating and resetting track on Loon Return and Twin Lakes trail. The fat bike trails are riding superb, best conditions of the year. We are open Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

100% open on 90km of trail. 50km tracked for classic only skiing, 15km groomed skate only and 5km designated as adventure skiing with skier made track. 20km of separate fat bike trail with grooming planned this evening on fat bike trails. Daily dustings of fluffy silk snow combined with regular grooming making for excellent conditions. Still some powder stashes on the sledding hill, the ice rink is ready and over 400 acres to explore on snowshoe. Enjoy winter!
We have been working on the outer trails this week with Bullhead and Bootleg Extension trails now opened and groomed (outside of the "adventure ski" segments). With the high water tables this year and abundant snowfall, water is running in unusual areas. We have been building temp bridges and until they are completed, simply ski around these areas (not recommended to use race skis on the "adventure skiing" segments.) Enjoy nature!

The trails at Maplelag are in great condition. Skiing was excellent today! We skied the Island Lake and Twin Lake trails, starting about noon. And while it was cold outside, being able to enjoy Maplelag's warm hospitality in the lodge was the perfect antidote for the weather following a couple of good hours on their ski trails...the cookie jars are full and the coffee is on. A very fine start for the 2019-20 Nordic ski season!
