Trail Reports

2017-2018 season
Reports 15 to 20 of 20    Month: Mar | Feb | Jan | Dec | Nov

Morning
Grooming
[ Trails Open: Most, B skis ]
All the trails are cleared except 13 to 21. The lack of additional snow in the past week+ of cold temps means the tracks have deteriorated and many on the west side are packed but not tracked. Our sled is back in action and now we need a few inches to go out and groom again.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: Most, B skis ]
Tracks set on 2/3 of trails - The lack of additional snow in the past week+ of cold temps means the tracks have deteriorated with use and some drifting. We're continuing work to clean up the other trails affected by heavy snow that toppled numerous trees, but had a setback when our sled went down a week ago.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: Most, Good skis ]
Tracks set 2/3 of trails - Early season heavy snow and winds knocked down lots trees and brush over the entire trail system. About 2/3 of the trails are tracked as of Friday. To see a map of tracked trails visit the National Forest Lodge home page. We're continuing to clean up the edges and unblock the others.

Morning
Grooming
[ Trails Open: Partial, B skis ]
No tracks set - base is 6-9 inches. Early season heavy snow and winds knocked down lots trees and brush over the entire trail system. Thanks to the Forest Service, most trails have been opened up, but we are continuing to clean up the edges. We hope to complete that by the weekend and will then set tracks as feasible. We will update this report on Saturday.

Grooming Scheduling
[ Trails: Closed, Rock skis ]
Well over 300 trees cleared last week from early season heavy snow and winds. Big thanks to the Forest Service for sending a couple crews out to help! Far western portions of the trail system are still waiting attention. Until there is fresh snow atop the old hard snow and litter, we will not be attempting to groom.

Afternoon
Observation Scheduling
[ Trails: Closed ]
No skiing! Heavy, wet snow and freezing rain have left the trails blocked with downed trees and brush. Because weather forecasts indicate we could get more of the same in the next 10 days, we will not be making any attempt to clear them until early December.
