A week ago, someone took a snowmobile on the north trail almost all the way up the middle track before they turned around. And, on the south, one or more sleds had come from the snowmobile trail to the highway. In both cases they trashed the track. We held off grooming because of the diminishing snow cover due to the multiple thaws, but with the freeze, I decided to try to repair those segments. Today I groomed those sledded segments, and I'd say the trails are better than they were, but really not up to the quality of the rest. There was little snow to work with, and in places, there really isn't much of a track -- no depth to work with. But it is still much better than it was and you are able to get in to the rest of the trail system, which is in excellent shape still, despite the thaws. Some tracks were starting to melt through, but we had a light dusting of snow last night to cover the bare spots, and the glaze from the thaw is gone ... for now. I skied the south today and that first segment went much better than yesterday. When I was done, someone was coming off the north trail and he said it is better than it was, and was glad I had groomed it.

Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
On the north loops, someone drove a snowmobile in and up the central trail almost all the way to the next junction, and then turned around and came back. It was mentioned that perhaps they went to cut a downed tree, but there was no evidence anything had been cut with a chain saw. This messed up the track quite a bit, but it is still ski-able. The rest of the tracks are icy due to the recent melt, but otherwise in good condition. I think we'll hesitate to re-groom it now because there isn't much of a base and doing so might mess up the rest of the good tracks.
Skied the south loop Saturday, and they are in good condition despite the melt.

Groomed all north and south segments late this afternoon. The tracks are in great shape! Hopefully they will hold up OK in the thaw forecasted for the next few days.

Groomed both the north and south segments of Washburn this afternoon. I think we had another 4" or so, so I think the base is pretty good now. Got stuck going up a steeper slope that had a big drift in it along a section of the south loop that parallel's the power line. After backing down and getting a run twice I finally got through, but it dug it up pretty well right there.

Both the north and south loops have been groomed this afternoon. Still could use more base in places, but definitely skiable all around.

Enjoyed skiing the center shortest trail, thanks for grooming. Hoping for more snow so deeper track can be set. Very glad we can ski.

Groomed for the first time this winter today! Both north 3 loops and south 3 loops groomed. Laid down a nice track but not much a base. Some bare spots in the track but very skiable.
