Excellent. Well groomed - tracks were solid. Bright blue sky and Lake Superior in the distance. River loop was particularly fun.

Skate loop survived all of the blowing and snowing quite nicely. Looked to have been groomed perhaps yesterday and hadn't seen any skiers yet. Some light snow this morning and a very small amount of debris, but overall flat, fast, and excellent skiing.

Skate loop was very nicely groomed, likely within the last couple days. I was there earlier in the week and it was fine, but the mid/late-week grooming session flattened both some footprints and a pronounced grooming ridge in the middle of the deck. Bravo, groomers.

Classic skied almost all trail segments this morning and everything was in very good condition. The trails north of Highway 61 were groomed and tracked over the weekend with just a little powder on top. The lower trail near the visitor center appeared to have been groomed on Monday. There were various animal tracks scattered throughout.

Classic trails are in beautiful shape. Freshly groomed. I skied most of them.
Well set. No debris at all. Beautiful overlooks.

We skied classic today and the trails were deep and firm. There is plenty of snow and the groomers have done a great job on the trails! There were many areas where pine needles and cones ended up in the tracks and they would slow or almost stop you in your tracks at times. Signs of wildlife everywhere! Absolutely a beautiful day to be on the trails!

The skate ski loop on the west side of the river is in perfect shape - minimal walker damage closer to the highway and river. The grooming is perfect, nice flat / wide skate lane - really a nice loop.

Excellent! The trails could not have been groomed better. The view of Lake Superior from the eastern trails was beautiful.

Skied the the Campground Loop around noon. Grooming appeared to be fresh and tracks were nicely set in most places. I'm a rank beginner and these were good conditions for me. Ready for weekend fun!

Trails were in fantastic shape, groomed this morning. Like every other park, there are walkers and mishaps, but move a few minutes farther from the visitor’s center and the number of incidents go down exponentially. 5 ish km on west/south side of the river is groomed for skating. At 430 pm, we were skiers #2 and 3 on the skate groomed trail and the other person had skated -- at what might be the most visited state park in the system. Great trail to escape people (because it's ~5km commitment vs. other trails have lots of choices). Fun loop though: climbing alongside the river and then wind downhill. Probably the first time I’ve ever been to Gooseberry without kids. The trails are beautiful and a fun day's adventure with kids (at least two, maybe three shelters to use as a destination and have a picnic lunch or something), it's much easier to go farther without kids. We ran out of daylight, but I found myself wanting to ski them all again - especially the farthest from the trailhead - the river is just so pretty covered in snow!
