Skied the Ray Lake loop with a short out and back to Gilmer. Sadly, the beautiful skate deck enjoyed Tuesday was destroyed by a quad which has left 8" deep frozen ruts along the entire route. Classic tracks were 5/10 - some run over by the quad but for the most part icy but still ok. Got in an enjoyable six miles but had to stay vigilant.

Trail from winter sports area parking through 1 mile loop is very rough. Very icy from recent melt and torn up from snow mobiles driving on the trail. Some classic tracks seem to be in ok shape but skate deck is impossible.

I went to see if the trails had been groomed. Appears they were groomed yesterday when the snow was wet, and temps were above freezing so when the temps dropped below freezing it turned into a hard frozen trail, dangerous to ski or walk surface.

Started from the Winter Sports parking lot, did the 1 mile loop, and then followed Millennium Trail east about a mile and back. Tracks are still intact after the recent warmup and rain, but they're a bit icy. The worse part is that some ATV rode through the trail and caused damage. It's mostly avoidable but annoying to have parts of the groomed tracks destroyed.

Skied the one mile loop and then out and back on the Millenium Trail East. Tracks were in excellent condition with only a few, easily avoidable spots with some dirt exposed from grooming. Then switched over to skate skis and did several laps on the one mile loop. Skate deck in decent condition despite damage from people walking/hiking/running right down the middle in areas. Some horse manure in two locations as well but that was on the Millenium Trail section. All in all, a great ski!

Classic tracks still mostly good. Some tracks close to "shoulder" have lost their right edge but not a big problem. Great ski.
