Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: Partial, B skis ]
The park was beautiful as was the grooming. Unfortunately the sun was torching the trails. Jumped out of the tracks multiple times due to oak leaves or the tracks burned through. The skate trail although rutted was in great shape! Thank you groomers for giving me one last ski in the cities!

Grooming
[ Trails Open: Partial, B skis ]
I dusted off the PistenBully and groomed the Orange and Purple Loops this morning. Double Classic Track was set throughout. Conditions actually look pretty good for classic skiing, but soft and loose for skate.

Skied campground loop and areas to the north and south of it this evening. 3-4" of new snow on top of leftover crust that froze after the rain last night. Skied-in tracks were getting better with each pass.

Nothing groomed or rolled, but a few skiers out this evening in the campground loop. A classic track starting to get skied in. Great coverage. Breaking through a crust when making new trail that just wasn't strong enough to hold a skier. Walking paths were plowed so they are the thinnest spots. Light snow still falling for the entire ski. Fun to finally be on natural snow!

Nothing was groomed at Bunker today, but still a fun ski. Some leaf debris on the trail but nothing terrible. There were some other ski tracks out there which made my ski a little easier. Fun to be on natural snow even if not groomed.

Had a nice afternoon ski at Bunker Hills today! The purple and orange loops were groomed, plus there are some extra groomed loops through the campground (the green loop that goes to the golf course was not groomed). The conditions are quite variable - there are some really great sections and then some areas with exposed dirt and grass (see pictures). Also, unfortunately some people have already walked on the groomed sections. Despite all this, with the winter we have had I am so grateful to get in a ski at Bunker - it was wonderful!
