Groomed today, which meant softening the deck, but not so deep as the bottom of the tracks, which where still frozen hard. Tracks were very shallow which made for poor tracking. Better than nothing.

Skied the forested trails by Schultze and west towards Holland and found the tracks still in decent shape, though a bit fainter. It seems other skiers are regularly skiing them in. Nice to see less foot traffic, or at least folks avoiding tracks. As expected, the light snows the past few nights have improved the conditions, especially helping to cover the leaves. Soft snow as we left.

Skied Lebanon Hills this morning from the Visitor Center East thru the Pines by Marsh Lake then South thru the horse pasture and west to marker 7 at the intersection to Jensen Lake then back on the north trails to the Visitor Center. I found the ski trails to be a mix, some good, most fair and some poor due to icy conditions, leaf debris in woods, roots exposed in pines, some wind blown tracks in open fields and a few bare spots. But still a decent ski. Just had to get out one last time before the big thaw this afternoon.

Great conditions out at Lebanon. Skied the big loop from Schultze Lake. Kudos to the groomers, there is a double set of tracks that have been holding up nicely, and Schultze itself has four tracks going around the lake perimeter. Usual oak leaves but perhaps with cold temps and the few light snows recently they didn't create any problems. Snow is really hard packed.

I viewed the west trail head at Lebanon for skate skiing. The trail is in okay condition but not groomed, the base is not deep there.

Starting at the Jensen Lake Trailhead, I skied loops in both the West and East sections of the park. The tracks are very hard, often slick/glazed, and skied-out from lots of use. There is quite a bit of wind blown leafy/woody debris in the tracks. I would recommend bringing a scraper to remove any debris from your kick wax zone if necessary. The trail snow base is generally very good, but all the debris calls for B skis.

[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Skate-skied the Lebanon Hills West trails starting from the West Trailhead off of Johnny Cake Ridge Road. Trails were very hard but not icy. I was able to get more than sufficient edging to snow-plow and step turn to navigate the numerous downhill curves/turns in the trail. There is really good snow base coverage on this very hilly trail, as all the trails are sheltered in deep woods. I selected B skis only because some pine tree sections of trail have lots of wind blown woody debris. If it wasn't for debris, I would select good skis as skate deck is solid. The trail is very cratered from human footprints all the way around the loop.

Went around the east portion this morning for a quick loop. The warm weather and wind really hasn't been kind to the tracks. Lots of roots are showing through (avoidable but annoying) along with the expected twigs and leaves. Hopefully we will get some new snow soon.

Generally good conditions for classic skiing. Tracks were well set. No exposed dirt or rocks or ice. Quite a few leaves in the tracks in some places, but these didn't impede us too much. Very few hiker tracks. We skied all of the outer loop of trails from the Schultze Lake trailhead (~7.5 miles).

Great day at Lebanon Hills. Classic skied the full outside loop and found the trails tracked and generally in great shape, with only a few sections a bit washed out. Some leaf coverage and a few spots where the soil was poking through, but really nothing to interfere with a great skiing session.
