Great early season skiing at Battle Creek. Skate deck was firm and fast. Only issue is dodging oak leaves in the woods. Terrific job groomers!

Night
Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
The ball field and Silver Trail (5K loop), was refreshed tonight. We did set a shallow track around most of the Silver Trail. Skate deck is in good condition and as mentioned the tracks are shallow. With colder temps tonight they should setup well. Grooming plans: World Cup, Gold, and Ski Games should be groomed on Thursday.

Evening
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Gold course was in good shape, firm but a little lumpy in places as expected, no tracks set. Ski games trails were much softer. It seems they groomed the right side twice to set tracks but the left side only once which meant the left was very soft. Fair amount of organic debris and a few thin spots, so I'd stick to B skis for now.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Groomed the Ski Games side and set a classic track as snow is deeper there. Use your good skis on Ski Games side as skiing looks very good with only a couple of bare spots. Also groomed the ball field plus Bronze and Silver trails. Some thin spots, so no classic tracks until we get more snow. Skating looks good on Bronze and Silver as it is quite good skiing for December 2nd.

Evening
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ B skis ]
Got there just before dark. Started skiing thinking the lights would turn on shortly. From what I could see the trails looked to have decent coverage but perhaps a few thin spots. Sadly the lights never came on (left at 5:30 pm) so it was a short ski and I couldn't really see the trail well enough to give a better call.

Afternoon
Grooming
[ Trails Open: Most, B skis ]
Groomed all of the trails except Ski Games. No tracks set as we need more snow. Good coverage but conditions much better in the woods. Almost could use your 'A' skis. Good skating conditions. As I left the wind was sending drifts across the track in the open areas.

Morning
Grooming
[ Trails Open: Most, Rock skis ]
This morning I rolled all of the trails east of Battle Creek Road (Bronze, Silver, Gold and World Cup). There is plenty of snow in the wooded sections to use your B skis. Sections in the open prairie area have been wind blown to bare ground in 2-3 spots. Use caution and if skiing mostly in the open sections use rock skis. SKi Games side West of Battle Creek road was not rolled. Grooming awaits more snow and colder weather.
Please Note: the Start area is not accessible from the parking lot due to melt water under the snow. Follow rolled trail heading west from parking lot toward sledding hill.
