Tough skiing for me tonight at Wirth - lots of ruts, ice chutes and piles of snow on downhills and potato piles building at the bottoms of the hills. Felt very technical and tough to control! So thankful for the trails but tonight, I had to bail.

Skate lane is getting a little soft this afternoon. The shaded sections of trail on the Luce Line and the Twin Lakes are to me in the best shape. There are a couple of dirty fat bike or hiker tracks crossing on the Twin Lakes loop and a few ice balls at the bottom of the north finger but otherwise smooth sailing.

Nicely groomed at Theo this morning for classic and skate. The loops in the best shape were Twin Lake and Ridgeline. The tracks in the open sun were a little slushy by late morning. Thanks to the groomers for keeping it going!

As expected, wet snow across the board with snow plow wake on most of the downhills. A few sections were dirty and a bit softer today including the leg of Green Meadow returning towards the stadium, but nothing unmanageable. Overall, impressive conditions for the weather. Kudos to the Wirth grooming crew for keeping the trails in shape during a challenging winter.

Overall pretty goood, just some icy fast sections, some scattered unevenness, a couple hills getting a little choppy but really still good skiing. North Finger now open and in good shape if you want another hill climb. Lots of skiers out there mid-day. Hope the base survives warmer weather.

With temps hovering around freezing, the snow was mostly firm and fast. Downhills were increasingly sloppy with buildup in the corners creating berms like a motocross track. Stay on the edges for the firm and fast stuff. The crowd was building when I left about 9 am. But good to have more terrain open. Thanks Loppet team.

37 F degrees at 8:00 am when I started with no overnight freeze, but the trail was surprisingly good. Skate deck had a 1/2 to 1 inch of lite slush on the up hills but otherwise good. Tracks a bit washed out but in good condition overall.

Snow was holding up well today, a little wet snow over a very firm base, even on the uphills. Some chutes on the steeper downhills. Someone with remarkably dirty shoes was walking on the bike trails, but otherwise the snow was pretty clean. Classic tracks looked good in most places.

Really enjoyed getting out for a pre-work ski this morning. Temps in the low 30s and grey. Trails were holding up well. There is some dirt at the fat bike crossings and where the groomers drive in and out. Amazing how much trail we actually have! Loads of gratitude to the groomers and snowmakers. I really wish it'd stay in the 20s!

Twin Lakes Trail is now open! This year's version is a bit shorter than normal and skips the outer meadow trail at the beginning. Instead, keep going on the Luce Line instead of heading up into the Meadow. Roughly 5k is now open.
