2019-2020 season

Morning
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: Partial, Good skis ]
Skied late morning, snow still quite fast, especially considering the humid conditions and temps in the upper 30s. Nice loop, container on one climb provides a change up on the hill. Some debris showing through now, doesn't look so pretty but still skis well. About 30 or more skiers out, but not crowded.

Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: Partial, Good skis ]
Was on the trail at 6:00 AM. It's amazing how much snow there is - great work on the part of the loppet crew! Conditions were soft, which isn't surprising with the temps and a bit of rain early morning. The leaves from yesterday were buried, and overall it felt fast. One note - some of the lights on the trail seem to be out. Some are on and some are not, so good to have a headlamp if you are going in the dark.

Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: Partial, B skis ]
A huge thanks to the Loppet trails crew for getting a solid 1K man-made loop open, with tons of snow, after just 4.5 days of snowmaking! It was so much fun to see all the skiers and visitors at the Trailhead - lots of buzz today at Wirth! The snow was in good shape, except for a lot of leaves and the occasional twig. Certainly nothing to complain about for November 16 skiing!

Observation
Stopped by to look over the snowmaking loop mid-afternoon. Plenty of snow, they were in the process of pushing and grooming before opening the course. Amazing how much they put down in such a short time (started Sunday night). Also saw the foundation going up for the big bridge in front of the Trailhead building. They are still in need of volunteers Saturday, Nov 16th, from 11-3, to help assembly the bridge.

Grooming Scheduling
[ Trails Open: Partial, Good skis ]
The new snomaking pumps are paying off! Although we had a late start making snow, the pump upgrades are helping us make up time. Theodore Wirth will be opening about 1k of our snowmaking loop Friday at 4:00pm. We will have Trail 18 up into the upper stadium and around the cooling tower open. Skier will access the trail through the back of The Trailhead building and up the 1st flight of stairs. Don't forget to stop in The Trailhead and pick up your All Access Pass and display as you ski. Also, stop in and visit our new Trailhead ski shop Boulder Nordic Sport.

No snowmaking yet, but crew has been busy upgrading power for new pumps and has received a brand-new snowgun. Talking with staff, they hope to fire up the guns Sunday and make snow while the weather permits next week.
