I wanted to check out early morning skiing at Wirth for a change from Hyland. It was Well groomed and the skate lane was nicely scratched up at 7 am -7:45. But as a classic track skier, many leave and debris filled most sections of the course. I stayed in the skate lane most of the time. The bonus was the gorgeous sun rise in the east over the city. Just amazing before the storm. I’ll be at Hyland from now on, less leaves.

Amazing glide today! Tracks were fully covered with no bare spots or ice. There were some oak leaves in the tracks but there was just enough soft powder to glide right over them. The big surprise at noon today: completely empty parking lot and trails - only saw one other skier!

Arrived at the snowmaking loop about 8:45am and found the conditions to be very good... a little crusty but fast and fun. Just a few avoidable bare spots but still really good coverage on all the loops (even the north finger was very good). A break for coffee and a delicious breakfast burrito at Mill Valley (yes, they are open) and back on the now-getting-softer trails! Get out and enjoy!

Of course, only man-made trails are open. We got going just before 10:00 and conditions were pretty decent. It was fun to see the wide variety of people there for Loppet's Wave to Winter event, everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. Conditions are still very skiable. There is more and more debris/dirty patches surfacing, but still not bad considering! The snow got slower and more grippy as the day went on. We stopped skiing around 11:00 am, and I probably wouldn't recommend skiing much past that time, unless you’re in for a challenge that is. Overall, it was a beautiful day. The grooming team is still doing a fantastic job, and we got in a fun morning ski. A Loppet staff member said the grooming team is still hoping to get a few more days out of the trail, so we'll see. Hats off to the Wirth staff for great skiing this winter, as always!

When I got there at 7:45 it was 30 degrees and a tad icy for my sensibilities, though others didn't seem phased. There was enough loose snow to get an edge. I just took it slow going down hills and everything was fine. Half an hour later it was perfect, and it stayed pretty good until about 10, when it hit 35 degrees. It didn't get really soft until about 11, except for the north finger, which was still crispy at 11. I thought I had my last ski last week, so this my encore for the season. It was a good one to go out on. Thanks groomers and thanks Loppet Ski Foundation for another great season!

Theo is still holding on even with all the warm weather and the hard rain! It was about 35 degrees when I got out late morning. The classic tracks weren't bad -- either icy in the shade or a little slushy in the sun, but very skiable. There was good coverage on all the snowmaking trails. Thanks to the groomers for continuing to set a nice classic track and groom the skate deck!

Fantastic ski at the snowmaking loop early this morning. Looks like lots of skiers getting out early to take advantage of the temps. The snow held really well through last week (I avoiding skiing during the week in the warm weather). There are a few rough spots to look out for and there is a fair amount of debris from the trees. You are probably fine on good skis, but suggesting B just in case. I go in the dark and I find it looks better in the dim light :) The only gotcha is trail 18 - it looks like the entrance by the water tower is meant to be two way, but there is no sign (the normal exit of trail 18 is not groomed). If you were speeding around that downhill corner and someone was coming back up the other way, it could be interesting.

Classic skied the snowmaking loop between 9:30-11 this morning. Classic tracks were well defined throughout. They had an icy glaze at the beginning of my ski, but were becoming somewhat slushy by the end. Overall, conditions were amazing given the warm and rainy weather we have had recently!

Snowmaking (manmade) trails open and fun! Oak leaves in the tracks are the biggest problem. Otherwise, not bad!

Very nicely groomed corn snow and full classic tracks. Good in shady areas and getting soft and sticky in the sun. Good ol' mashed potatoes on the uphills. Greatly exceeded my expectations! No bare spots but getting thin in places. Skied 8:30-9:30 am and it went from 45 to 52 degrees in that time. (Driving past Quaking Bog and Eloise Butler snow gone in most places or patches of dirty snow so looked unskiable).
