Nice little short 300-400 meter loop is open again in the main (lower) stadium area, just enough to get your ski legs appetized for the upcoming ski season! Most exciting however was to look at all the large snow piles that are scattered around, which will hopefully be spread out soon to make for a larger loop. I am glad the Loppet Foundation is starting the snowmaking in the lower stadium this year - a great place for everyone to get started!

I was the first one out this morning on the .32K (by my watch) loop. Nicely groomed and fast. Tracks were also in good shape. Probably a total of 10 people out between 6-7 a.m., including a group of high school skiers from Orono. Snow guns were blasting and it looks like we’ll have a longer loop soon!

They made a nice figure 8 pattern to make a trail of between 300-400 meters. The snow is groomed and it feels nice. Not many people out today but I can image it could get crowded soon. Wax for the weather :)

The Loppet will have another 300 meter snowmaking loop open in Lower Stadium starting Thursday morning. We will groom daily as conditions allow. Lights are on 6am-10pm. The Trailhead building is closed at this time. For more information about buying trail passes and for Covid 19 updates, visit the Loppet website.

The Loppet trails crew has made enough snow for a 300 meter out and back in the Lower Stadium area by the Trailhead building. We will be grooming nightly, as conditions allow. Lights will be on 6am - 10pm. Buy your ski pass online and pickup at the ticket window at the Trailhead. Plan to mask up if you can’t maintain 6 feet of distance with other skiers.

Super fun to get out on a real groomed trail for the first ski of the season before Halloween! Nice flat, easy loop to get your ski legs and balance dialed in, right next to the Trailhead for easy access. Real nice base and clean snow for October 28! Double classic tracks and nice skate deck. Yellow storage wax and rock skis were plenty fast for me, but no real damage possible with better skis. Thanks Loppet Trails team!
