Snowmaking trails: Skate skied, but classic looked to be in good shape. The corduroy was frozen; possible it hadn't been groomed since last night. An odd mixture of completely skiable with good coverage, yet the frozen corduroy was fast, and this morning's snowfall smoothed it out a bit. Overall fine, but the frozen corduroy made the footing uncertain even though I stayed upright. =)

Best day of the season at Wirth manmade trails. Super tracks for my blue klister at 9 am. Great group of friends got together for most likely, one of our last Sunday skis. Such a great season. Thanks to the Loppet foundation and groomers of manmade snow.

What a great day for spring skiing! The sun was out and conditions were great. Classic tracks were in good shape, but things were definitely getting soft.

Amazing conditions left behind by a week of cold and racing. Only skied the JN course so I don't know the condition of the Twin lake loop. Deck was firm and fast yet supple. Can't wait to ski it again in the light of the morning. Thanks groomers and organizers for building a super fun course.

My last Wirth natural snow outing of the season. It is still skiable with very few bare spots, but too much ice to be enjoyable. Wirth Lake not good at all and spent too much time avoiding ice on Tornado alley and the front nine.

Some of the best skiing of the season! The man made trails are in pristine condition, plus fast. The four-wide classic tracks are gone (except for one uphill). It was mostly corduroy, even at 9 am. Get out there when you can, although the competition is taking up a lot of time this week at Wirth. The golf course was in good condition, hadn't been groomed today and a few icy spots though they were very visible. The man made stuff was so great that I'd probably hang out there.

Pretty good conditions for skate although soft in a few places (although not as soft as I was expecting at 35 F). There are four classic tracks set on the hill up to Coach's Corner, but there's room on the side to skate. It was fun to ski the reroute for Junior Nationals and see all the flags and trailers out there too.

On the snowmaking loop there is a sprint loop groomed with four classical lanes (meaning no skate deck) from the lower stadium roundabout to coaches corner. Other than that, normal grooming.

Beautiful conditions for both skating and classic skiing on the full man-made snow loop after last night's snowfall. Should be a great week for the Junior National Cross-Country Ski Championship races! [ Note that Theodore Wirth North trails will be closed a number of days this week during the competition -- Ed. ]

No grooming overnight - icy - probably best to avoid today due to the rain. I am guessing the course is being preserved for the upcoming races.
