Observation
[ Trails: Closed ]
I counted 12 guns going on the XC loop with one or two going on the other half of the man-made snow loop. There were also a couple of guns going on the alpine/tubing area. Closed today but it will be better when it re-opens. Colder night time temps this week should help.

Morning
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: Partial, Good skis ]
Not nearly as good as yesterday at the same time. Hills were already turning to sugar as it didn't get cold enough last night. Great day to work on double poling techniques as I couldn't get any grip with the classic skis.

Pretty nice. About 1 kilometer open. Getting sugary on the uphills and a little bobsled groove going downhill ( the donut? Bagel? Mini loop?).

Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: Partial, Good skis ]
The loop is open and in great condition. Used rex silver klister and it worked pretty good with the exception of the hill at the northern end. Each loop is roughly 1.25k.

Grooming Scheduling
[ Trails: Closed, Good skis ]
1K of the Elm Creek Valley Trail will be open for skiing on Thursday, November 26th - Sunday, November 29th. Trail open 5am - 10pm, with exception of Sunday, Nov. 29th when we will close skiing at 7pm to take advantage of cooler temps and make more snow. Chalet will be closed other than use of restrooms. We encourage you to purchase passes online. Staff will be available to sell passes out of the chalet ticket windows from 8am - 7pm on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

Observation

They were able to make some more snow last night as evidenced by the snow in the trees. I'm speculating, but it looks like there may be enough to groom and open the short loop soon.

They have groomed snow most of the way around the short loop. I talked to the Park Manager and they have to make a little more snow yet. Looks cold enough on Friday night and Sunday night.

Not making snow now as it warmed up. Some of the snow piles have been spread out though like in the practice area.

I listened to the recorded message that stated there will be a deer hunt in Elm Creek park this weekend. I don't know if that impacts the ski trail areas. [ The entire park is indeed closed for a shotgun deer hunt Nov 14-15th. And the ski trails are not open yet. --Ed. ]

The guns are going again. Lost some of the previous snow with the 70s last week. No snow being made for the lower donut area yet.
