Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: Most, Good skis ]
Got off the Hamster Loop and onto the Lake Trail. Good conditions for skating with scattered thin spots that are easy to go around. Looks like some of the classic only has been groomed. There were non-continuous classic tracks on the Lake Trail...just not consistently deep enough yet due to the wind from last week's blizzard.

Man made loop is excellent. Northern Lights is firming up nicely, but there are some bare patches showing on Cowabunga. Lake was groomed but Creek was not. Also the multi-purpose trails are not groomed but do have adequate coverage.

Classic tracks good to excellent. Didn’t look like valley trail was groomed last night from the snowfall. Still no track groomed on lake or northern lights trails. But a lot of skate skiing on northern lights.

Skied from Eastman Nature Center and did the outside loop. Conditions should have been very good after the recent snowfalls, but grooming leaves some to be desired. Grooming from the nature center really hasn't happened this year and many walkers have been damaging the trail. There were some tracks laid and the skate deck was soft. Tracks by the swim pond were down to bare ground. They may have been actively grooming when I was out since some of the new tracks seemed very soft and didn't have time to firm up yet.

Skied the whole outside loop just as the snow began to fall. Hard packed good conditions but several dirt spots, easy to navigate around. Enjoy!

Firsthand: Both
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Skied the outer loop at Elm. All tracks have been groomed but the outside classic tracks have not been regroomed since yesterday's snowfall. Where the trail was more protected coverage was very good, there were bare spots where I assume the trail was more windblown. There were a couple posthole footprints down the middle of trail but nothing too bad.

I skated the outer loops today at Elm. Conditions were mostly good. Definitely some dirty spots, but everything was avoidable. Very few individuals were on the outer loop. All trails had been groomed recently. Classic has not been set the whole distance. The 2.5km man made loop was in its usual good condition.

Skied the Valley Trail and Northern Lights outer loop in the evening after most of the snowfall had passed. The trails were in surprisingly good condition, soft but still very nice base. Valley Trail was good condition; the Northern Lights loop overall was in good condition for almost all of it, although there were some small spots at the base of the big hill where the snow was very thin and turf was becoming exposed. These spots might be avoidable in the daylight. It was a lot of fun, but I'd recommend using B skis if you're planning on skiing the Northern Lights loop, especially in the evening.

Skied early to new corduroy and dry snow then the new snow changed everything. The outer loop was amazing. There was only one hill on Creek that showed ground, all others had great coverage. The skate deck was medium solid which made it fun. Again, great grooming and worth the early trip.

Man-made loop is still in great condition, good skis no problem. Northern Lights back half was good skis as well but I've heard from many other skiers that there are some real problem spots on the first half. The Lake, Creek, and Eagle trails are groomed. Skied Lake and Creek which are B ski territory until more snow fall. Tracks looked pretty good all the way around, and looks like many people have trail blazed monarch.
