Finding Rainbow Results

January 10, 2010

Conditions: Temperature: 8F (start)-18F (finish), little wind in the woods, well-groomed corduroy snow on top of hard-packed skating lane making skating condition fast; classic tracks are well set; 2 laps of a full 10 km Rainbow Rendezvous signature course.

Members of the MN NORTHWEST ski clubs including skiers from Alexandria, Detroit Lakes, Park Rapids, Starbuck, Wadena, New York Mills, and Plymouth showed up after a day of “exhausting” yet “exciting” high school racing trip to the Giants Ridge Invite. Most of the racers’ are the proud parents and coaches of teens and student athletes who competed and placed in the top 5 boys and girls at the GR Invite. Congratulations!!! FINDING RAINBOW has indeed become a celebratory gathering event.

Skiing condition is excellent today. Thanks to Doug Schumann for preparing the race course and Linda Schumann for the post-race refreshments. It is a fantastic ski experience for us grown-ups who FOUND RAINBOW treasures.
