Saturday mornings WAM-XC are like minded Women And Men who Cross Country ski and drink coffee. It grew out of recognition of the importance of Long Slow Distance training in the summer as preparation for cross country skiing. We primarily pole hike, but also bike. Our hikes start as easy walks. We then add ski poles to exercise arms and upper body as well as get a better workout. Ski poles are used for a classic ski technique imitation. We employ specific strategies to accommodate a variety of fitness levels and firmly believe cross-country skiers are made in the summer!
