SECTIONAL/STATE MEET NOTES

Where has the time gone? We have 12 days until the State Meet. If this was a text message, I would say OMG (for those of you who do not know what that means, ask one of your athletes). I have several items to pass along.

CHARLIE BANKS RELAYS: This again will be held on Wednesday, February 11th.  More details here.

ACADEMIC AWARDS: The deadline for Academic Awards is Saturday February 6th. Please send this information to: [email protected].  Remember this is an Association Award and you must be a member of the Coaches Association for your team to eligible for this award.

TEAM PHOTOS: For those teams who win Sectional Titles make sure you contact your Athletic Director and have those pictures sent to the high school league for publication in the State Tournament publication.

BANQUET: We will again be having a Banquet on Wednesday, February 11th beginning at 6:00 p.m. The cost is the same as last year, $15.00 per person. Tickets will be available at the door. Our format will be the same, with a brief introduction followed by a slide show.

BANQUET SLIDESHOW: State Qualifiers--we need need your pictures for the banquet. Please send them to [email protected]. The deadline is Sunday, February 7th. Please send these files as low resolution jpg labeled with the skier’s name and team in the file name. We will add names to the picture during the editing process. Thanks!

STATE MEET MEETING: Beginning at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, February 11th, we will be gathering in the Chalet for our Association meeting and a review of issues related to the State Meet. We will be voting for Coach of the Year, Assistant Coach of the Year, and Volunteer of the Year. Section reps--please get you nominations to me as soon as possible.

COURSE MARSHALS:  As we did last year, if you do not have a team participating in the State Meet and you are coming to watch, we could always use a few extra Course Marshals. This is a great learning experience and is greatly appreciated by the jury members when a tough call has to be made.

Good luck at your Sectional Meets! We will see you in a week from this Wednesday.

Best regards,
Mike Hecker
