Big Bay Relay Results

Marquette, MI - May 16, 2015 was the setting for the 39th Annual Big Bay Relay. Thirty - two teams signed up and participated in the relay. Teams started the event at 8:00 am, in a staggered fashion until 8:34 am. The traditional course was traveled along County Road 550 from the Kaufman Sports Complex in Marquette to The Thunder Bay Inn in Big Bay. All teams ran a 25 mile course, exchanging and alternating runners at each designated mile marker.

Teams traveled from as far away as down state Michigan to compete in this traditional event. The fastest team was in the Junior Division Team, "Running Noses" rocked a time of 2:22. Female Division Team, "Bagel Babes" crossed the finish line with a time of 3:22, Mixed Division Team, "Quick and Dirty" came in at a steady 2:51, while the Male Division Team, "The Pikers" finished at a cool 2:30.

The Noquemanon Trail Network Skijor Club was the host for the event. Proceeds raised during the race will go towards signing and trail support for our canine friends. Travel Marquette, Johnson's Superior Shoes and Jimmy John's of Marquette sponsored the event.

The organizers would like to thank all participants and especially the Marquette County Sheriff's Department the City of Marquette Police Department for their support. Thank you also to the City of Marquette and the Thunder Bay In for hosting the start and finish areas. This years race was a great success.
