Primo conditions on the outer double track trail today. Feels like new snow- soft and nicely laid tracks. Appreciate that snowshoers, deer, and turkeys have left the tracks clean and unmarred.

The trails have been regroomed for skate and the classic grooves have been reset. Good conditions other than it being cold. In the back half of the course (going counterclockwise) the wind crusts over a couple of rises, which makes those portions pretty icy.

The skate trail is entirely ungroomed - it looks like no grooming operations have occurred for quite some time. There are knee deep accumulations in the segments leading to the trail. Would advise turning back or classic skiing instead, although even then you would be breaking trail.
