They groomed 9" on several trails on Saturday. About 3" since. No classic track set. We skated a bit, the deck was still firm at noon. No bare spots. Was softening just a bit in sunny areas. Great conditions for March skiing!

Skied Fern Dell and Turtleville trails. Looks like they got about 2" of fresh snow on Friday night, as the trails were pretty loose and soft and the weather was softening them up even more. Fern Dell was good, but not as firm and fast as yesterday. Turtleville might have been groomed, but you could hardly tell, as the snow was pretty loose and it didn't seem like it had much of a base. Grooming again would really help the skate deck and tracks .\.

Skied the Fern Dell loop twice and once around on Hastings. The Fern Dell trail was in excellent shape, fast and fairly well set up. A real blast! Hastings, however, was really soft and quite the chore to ski. But great to get back onto the Mirror Lake trails!

We did the Fern Dell and Turtleville loops only. Skate lane had a few issues (a tad soft, some tracks from the grooming equipment, crowned/dipped path here and there) but was very fun nonetheless. The classic tracks on Fern Dell were excellent with good depth and firmness. Only about a third to a half of Turtleville was tracked.

No classic ski tracks set as of 3pm Friday. Kind of slow going. Plenty of snow, though. Groomers were out there when I was skiing. Some trails were ready for skaters.

Skied Mirror Lake at 10am. They hosted a candlelight ski/hike last night. Apparently the groomer came in after the event and groomed several of the trails. Ishnala, Pioneer, Fern Dell, Hastings, Kilbourn, Newport were a blast. Skate deck was wonderful. Tracks looked new also. Sure, there is some debris that you must skate around but, it is Mirror Lake, what a treat!

Classic tracks not set but a few skiers had been out so was very skiable--not fast but enjoyable and could use good skis.

I skated Fern Dell, Turtleville, and Hastings. I would rate it as good skating. The deck is flat which they used to have real problems with. Some soft spots, and it's not a real smooth surface with some grooming machine tracks in spots. All in all very skiable. Tracks are set for striding and look in good shape.

Best conditions by far this year. The park did a good job of rolling, combing and setting tracks Sunday morning. Skated Fern Dell, Turttleville and finished up on Hastings at sunset. Fern Dell was good skis doable with care and had very nice classic tracks. Other trails still skated well but were softer and had more thin areas in the classic tracks. Northwest loops still ungroomed as more debris clearing is required to get the groomer thru. Ranger Becky came thru in a big way grooming on a Sunday-there were lots of happy skiers out! Finally pretty decent skiing near Baraboo. The Park has put in a tremendous amount of work to get theses trails open after December's heavy, wet snow event that hit so many trails all over the state.

About three inches of new snow over a frozen base. Previous debris is now covered. Need to watch for some rock exposure on Ishnala Trail, otherwise reasonably well covered. Wasn't yet groomed, but it skied very nicely. No tracks set.
