Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Warm temperatures haven't affected the base much yet, with only a few thin wet/frozen patches. There were some icy stretches, but mostly tracks were soft and still skiable with little leaf or twig litter. Skied Yellow and Green trails.

Trails were in excellent shape with only a few soft spots and drifting out in the open. Skied the Yellow, Green, and Purple loops and with temperatures in the low 20s F the snow was just right. Perfect day to be out.

[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
First time skiing this park. Rough classic tracks only, set mostly by what appears to be only a few other skiers. Lots of oak leaves and sticks in wooded areas. Everywhere was soft, but open prairie sections were especially soft and overblown from wind. Don't bother bringing thin, fast skis if you have an alternative. Trails are beautiful and it was a great experience even though it was more work and slower going plodding through the rough. Only had time for one loop and a total of around 3 miles distance just before sunset.

Skied the outer loop. 2" fresh snow. Wooded trails were excellent. Prairie loop was drifted and rough. Could use mechanical grooming. Multi-use trail was groomed.

Grooming

Trails are all open and freshly groomed. Pristine condition after 5" of fresh snow. Very few low hanging branches covered with snow but still a few. Much better than the last few snowstorms.

I'm sure very lovely and pretty trail, but conditions are sketchy -- very icy and no room to leave the tracks on the down hills. Also very leafy.

Trails were groomed this morning and are in good condition. Some low hanging branches due to the recent ice and snow.
