Trail Reports

2017-2018 season

Afternoon
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: Most, B skis ]
My first time at Quarry Hill Park. Happy to see groomed trails. A few loops the face South were exposed dirt and a few icy low spots, but a great job done with bare ground underneath. I skated, and noticed the classic tracks looked good, but not perfect (as expected).

Skied Quarry Hill Friday, mostly very good, safer for good skis than Chesterwoods.

Evening
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: Most, B skis ]
With new snow overnight, the trails are again well covered except very few spots on the hills. Not re-groomed yet when I skied. Not enough to set classic tracks, but for skate skiing, it was very good, at least for B skis, if not good skis. The frigid temp this coming weekend will probably change the trail condition, but as of now, very enjoyable.

Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Thanks to the groomers, quarry hill is rolled and 90% of trails are completely skiable (with either rock or even B skate skis in some sections). No classic tracks. Lots of fun and beautiful after the snow. There are some bare spots as the base is understandably thin, but overall, the condition is incredible given how snow deficient our winters have become. Really wish snowmaking was a thing in Rochester. Enjoy the outdoors!
