Best day of skiing this year! Tracks were deep and set up overnight from grooming yesterday (thanks Rich!). Skied the yellow loop twice! Very little pine needles or leaves. Pretty fast, except for a few areas which softened up under the late morning sun.

2" of new snow was blended with existing snow and resulted in new tracks that are full depth, a little soft, with a firm base below. Hardly any woods debris, and a couple spots where it is a bit thin, but easily avoidable. Considered fair to good with excellent conditions in many areas. In all, pretty good skiing for the middle of March.

Despite recent warm daytime conditions we probably have the best base we've seen in recent years. Kudos to groomer Doug Otopalik for working in challenging conditions to reset a track. Full depth in many areas with nearly 99% coverage. Hard and icy in the morning, warmer and slower in the afternoons. Enjoy some of the best springtime classic skiing we've had in years.

Red and Yellow pretty nice, green not all the way packed/ groomed/tracked. About three patches of grass on yellow tracks. Impressed there was not pine needle debris while skiing through yhe pines. Another great day of skiing. Thanks groomers.

Great grooming, beautiful day for a ski. Skied red and yellow trail, tracks in excellent to very good shape. Only down side was somebody walked in track on red trail.

After a warm and dry winter, a large winter storm finally rolled over Door County. The park received 12 - 14 inches of dry snow which covered the bare, ice-covered trails. All of the trails were rolled and packed. Tracks were set. The track walls are soft, but should firm up overnight. Current ski conditions are excellent. If you haven't been on your skis this winter, this is your chance. Some hikers and snowshoers are confused on which trails to use. If you see folks on the ski trail, gently remind them that they should stick to the 8 miles of designated hiking trails.

Trails were groomed with tracks set. Some thin areas along Lake on Red Trail. Some areas are very good with full depth tracks. Fair to good snow conditions considering the little snow we have received.

Trail conditions are poor. All trails were Ginzu packed today with about 2" of somewhat slushy snow covered by about an inch of new dryer snow. Since all of our base had melted, once frozen, this could the beginning of a new base, but in the meantime, despite looking somewhat pristine, it's really almost paper thin so no track for now. For those willing to ski without a track it could be ok after setting up. There are lots of twigs and branches scattered mostly along the Red trail and a few downed trees had to be cleared out of the way.

Kudos to Doug Otopalik for setting a "thin" track this morning on our minimal base. Generally fair conditions with occasional grassy, bare spots. Pole plant area is moderately firm and bottom of track is firm.

Trail conditions were fair in most areas, poor in a few others. About 8-10" new snow was packed this morning. Trails are soft but should firm up a little overnight. Track can be set in many areas, but a brief equipment problem prevented setting track today.
