Night
Firsthand: Classic
[ B skis ]
Went out just as the sun was going down and skied the Brehmer creek trail with only the light of the moon. It was beautiful out with total silence and the moon, casting shadows of trees across the trail. It was a little icy, and I had to walk about halfway down a couple of the hills. Only a few small bare patches. Otherwise I thought it was in pretty good condition.

Very firm trails at Machickanee this morning, the tracks were icy and the hills scary fast. Skied the Blackberry, Brehmer and Coralberry trails, walking down the bigger hills. Also got some great crust skiing on some of the county forest roads off the back side of the trails.

Lots of snow at Machickanee ski trail. Dave groomed all but the Timberwolf trail, although someone has skied in a track. It was a warm and sunny day but with plenty of snow.

Exceeded expectations while cruising around the double tracked Blackberry Ramble Loop in 7 degrees under a sunny sky. Many thanks go to Dave, the lead tender of these trails, for getting them in condition given the thin snow cover. Special Note: There will be a candlelight ski on Feb.4th from 5:30-8:00. Come ski a little, sit by a bonfire, socialize and take in the beauty of Machickanee. Carpe Skiem!

Normal thinner track at start, in pines, but thereafter solid/firm tack throughout system. Downhills screaming fast. There was a recommendation to use B skis, I used my new skis didn't seem to have an issue.
