This trail is very hilly, rolling and scenic. It winds around five different lakes, through stands of maple, aspen and balsam. There are a couple fairly steep hills requiring intermediate skiing skills. A shelter with a fire ring is located on the trail.

Grooming

Conditions: Very good to excellent. Cut and tracked all after 2 inches new snow today.
Mixed old and new snow with good results. Track firm and woods scenic after 2 inches new. New snow had good moisture content and temperatures now dropping so should set up overnight. Flurries now so should cover any debris. Conditions best of year!

[ Good skis ]
Conditions: Groomed and tracked to perfection.
If you are a classic purist, these trails are made for you. These rolling trails wind through the forest of a winter wonderland. I love the challenge and thrill of the constantly changing trail. The grooming is fantastic making for an enjoyable and safe ski. Thanks!

Grooming
[ Good skis ]
Conditions: Very good condition.
Cut and tracked all took two passes but was happy with results. One porcupine headed up an oak to his hole(den?) in a big oak tree. Track firm and slow with cold temps.

Grooming
[ Good skis ]
Conditions: Very good conditions at present on Escanaba. I cut and tracked all on Saturday morning and it has been very cold since.
Due to cold weather I am confident this trail is in very good shape. I set track on Saturday morning after about 2 inches of fresh snow. The new and old snow were mixed together and set up firm.

Quite a bit of drifting and additional debris down with the high winds on Saturday. All loops leveled, cut twice, and tracked this morning bringing the trail back to very good conditions. Still some debris.

Grooming
[ B skis ]
A couple inches of new snow over the past couple days. All loops leveled and tracked this morning. Overall very good conditions, but the new snow was not enough to cover all the debris so there is still some debris on the trail.

Grooming
[ Good skis ]
Conditions: Very good conditions, cut and tracked entire twice, was very firm but now is semi-firm and ready for new snow.
still some debris but should be minimal after new snow comes. Could use some new but what is there is really good and a bit fast if you are into speed. Did not track down hills so can always snowplow for control.

Grooming
[ Good skis ]
Conditions: Trail conditions are very good. Excellent conditions are not far away but some pine needles and leaves will keep it in the very good rating for now.
Track is firm and cold weather should keep speed down. Great conditions and weather will keep tracks in good shape.
