2022-2023 season
Reports 1 to 3 of 3    Month: Feb | Jan

Afternoon
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
CAVOC trails were in generally good to excellent shape. Deck was firm and fast and tracks looked good too without much forest debris. Only downside was the snowshoe and boot traffic down the middle of the skate deck. Deck was pretty firm so divots were mostly superficial and not generally deep enough to create a hazard.

Firsthand: Classic

Per the groomer, the skate deck was groomed this morning. It did look like a real nice corduroy. The classic tracks were not redone, and are quite icy. Kick was hard to come by with the granular snow freezing on my kick wax, but that may improve with some colder temps (it was about 30ยบ). There is 1/2 inch of snow or so covering the classic tracks, which helps a little bit. The tracks are well-established and firm, just a bit icy.

Morning
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
There was a dusting of snow over everything, which helped soften up iciness on the trails a little more. Things are groomed really nicely, trails were re-groomed yesterday morning. The classic tracks are holding up well, pretty deep and very firm. There have been a few trees that either fell or were taken out, so there are some areas of old debris to work around that have been cleaned up quite well--just things to watch out for. Towering Pines hasn't been re-groomed since the ice and is a little rough going, along with having a bit of pine debris.
