2022-2023 season

Morning
Observation
[ Trails Open: Partial ]
Prelude loops groomed and tracks set. Snow conditions were perfect midday where I had been skiing north of Marcell. I was too tired to ski again at Blueberry, but grooming looked good.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Both
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
We started at noon when temps warmed the fast nicely groomed trails just enough. Tricky skiing all the way to Tower with kids both classic and skate. Slow in the sun, icy under the pine cover. Some clumping on skis about 2 pm when temps were about 39 or warmer in the sun. Great adventure!

Secondhand
[ Trails Open: All ]
Groomers reported that Wednesday's new snowfall has been packed and tracked to Tower and back. But today's warm temps and sun may have caused melting so caution advised especially on south facing slopes.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
I skied the entire system from the trailhead to the tower. All segments were groomed recently, and I was able to skate on nice, soft (yet packed) snow the whole way. It might have been a bit soft if you like to ski fast on hard snow. Otherwise, it was great, and the best conditions I've skied at Blueberry in quite a while.

New 6 inch snowfall has been groomed and track set to H and back. More grooming is planned since more snow is forecast.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Freestyle Secondhand
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
A bit crusty with crumbles, but had enough ski edge purchase to go to the tower. It was a little fast with impeded snowplow effectiveness on the downhills. I sidestepped partway down the steepest hill, which is getting near the tower end. Trail groomer Dave thought it would be real nice tomorrow if the snow warms and softens up a bit.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Classic skis with special green made for great kick but not much glide due to zero degree temps. All trails groomed and tracked but we did only Prelude and Red Pine Junction with kids. Sun shining = great skiing!

Morning
Firsthand: Classic Secondhand
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
A couple inches of new fluffy snow in the tracks all the way to Tower and back made for really fun riding the rails safely on the curvy downhills! Met one of the new groomer operators as he finished Lake Loop. Grooming plans: More grooming after the next snowfall.

Absolutely beautiful day and the trails are perfect. Great job grooming! We are so lucky to have these beautiful trails right here in Deer River!

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
All sections of the trail have been groomed and track set on all trail sections; Prelude, Lake Loop and Tower end. I skied the Lake Loop and Prelude today and it skied very well. Thanks to new groomers Dave and Tony for their assistance and hard work.
