Interesting snow on the Eau Claire/Chippewa county line. Skate deck and tracks were soft in some spots, icy and fast in others. Lots of foot and paw tracks, as well as some deer and fat tire evidence. Not a huge system, but pretty sweet for a city park!

Trail conditions were poor today. Hasn't been groomed since before the snow last week. Classic tracks were skied out in a lot of areas and somewhat icy in others. Skate deck was well used. Also, lots of people and dog footprints on the skate deck.

The city had groomed the trail before we got there so it was pretty much perfect. Great shape for both classic and skating. More than enough snow to cover the icy conditions from the week before. Even the long downhill was very manageable.

This is a short trail (2.5 miles total), but well worth it. Since it's right in town I just do several laps. A nice flowing trail system with a nice long downhill toward the end. It was perfectly fresh, so must have been packed and groomed early today for both skating and classic. Tracks were perfect, set the right distance from the edge. Skate deck was a bit soft, but that's to be expected with all this snow to get under control. Thanks to our city staff for getting the trail groomed when I know there are lots of snow issues to deal with. Great to get out there after waiting for the cold temps to go away!
