[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Skied the eastern 2/3 of BC East Saturday night at twilight. Lots of blowing snow so track are probably filled in but the hard work is done. The paved trails had some afternoon traffic yesterday. Dig out the back country skis and give it a go.

Poor but skiable condition, quite a few short bare spots but you can maneuver around them. Tonight and tomorrow morning should be okay but I'm not coming back tomorrow evening.

Someone else has already set a track for classical, except one short section. I skied the outer loop except between the two parking lots by the dog-park - I took the difficult trail because it is more fun and the other trail was walked over by snowshoers. It should be in nice shape tomorrow with the track almost fully set and should get a bit faster; get out while you can!

Trail conditions varied quite a bit. I avoided the trail sections in the sun most likely to be questionable. However, there were many icy stretches, and very little cushion from the snow if you fall. Still quite skiable in the woods, but beware of ice on the downgradients.

All segments recently double tracked, excellent skiing in woooded sections a bit icy in the sunny spots and one bare area on the upper loop. Overall very good condition.

The trails are open but you'll definitely be doing some adventure skiing as nothings has been groomed yet. Folks have done a pretty good job of laying down a track, but it's slow going which is a perfect excuse for taking in the beautiful scenery. The off shoot trail that starts with a big climb that goes along the eastern boundary has a tree down right in the middle of a downhill section, until it gets moved I suggest skipping that trail section. Hopefully if the trails get groomed and with the cold temps the next few days we can eek out a few more days on the good skis.

Great conditions. Trails double tracked for classic skiing. Took the outer trail, turning right at every fork. Best skiing yet this season. Thank you groomers.

Overall tracks were in better shape than I thought they would be given the melt we had. All trails were covered, some thinner than others, with minimal leaves and grooves are there but hidden a bit with the fresh snow. Once a few more people ski them, or they get groomed, trails should be in good shape for a while.

Double tracked classic trails are in good shape and holding up well. A little debris and thin spots but with the good coverage hard to complain.
