I had a very snowy ski from OO to Firetower and back today. No tracks set but that was expected considering how hard it was snowing today! About 6-7 inches on deck surface which I classic skied on most of the trip. I saw the Pisten Bullys start up at 5pm with lots of packing to do before all the activities this weekend.

10 inches of powder on a perfect skate deck... think I will wait for the groomer. Tons of snow on the south end, close to a foot this week.

Started at the Birkie TH, skiing classical. No groomed trails with about 2 inches of fresh powder. Connected with the North End trail, and skied it to past the Timber Trail Road, then back to the Birkie TH. North End was freshly groomed and fantastic. Wonderful day of skiing.

Hayward Fish Hatchery and Birkie Trails were groomed and tracked Wednesday, the trails were in good shape with a firm base. I used my good ski with no problem. Some new snow was falling after I skied.

Skated from OO north to the Powerlines and back. The groomer had just returned on the classic trail so I skied from OO to Boedeker Rd on the classic trail and then switched to the un-groomed skate trail at Boedeker up to the Powerline. There was about an inch of new powder on top of hardback. My Madshus Redline skis were able to get a firm grip on every stride and I never found myself slipping on any ice underneath. There seemed to be a fairly good bond between the new powder and the hardback underneath. Definitely worth the trip. Not sure what snow came after I left in the late afternoon so this report may be obsolete by now.

The groomer was just finishing as I headed out on the OO loops. Classic skied with skin skis. Good kick and glide. The groomed skate deck was in great shape the few times I popped out of the track; however, the ungroomed skate deck beyond the loops was hard packed and icy despite the 1" of fluff on top.

Tried classic skin skis from Boedecker TH. Firm, fast, icy tracks with good grip and glide. But skate deck has the glaze of overnight sleet/ice and was too scary for me, so I just did the flat sections. Expert skiers might enjoy the fast conditions, but I'll wait til the groomers scratch it up!

I skied the Birkie Trail this morning from roughly the Power Lines to the High Point and then back on the classic trail. The trail is thin in places for sure but still excellent skiing. Icy fast this morning but still soft enough to set an edge. Temps never got above freezing while we were out which was good news all things considered.

Skied north from OO to Timber Trail and trails were great! Everything was groomed on Classic and Skate trails and sun was out. Beautiful day to ski in 20's. My wife classic skied south of OO past Gravel Pit and said the tracks were very good but many leaves made there way into the track.

I skated from Mosquito Brook Trailhead down to Lake Hayward and back this morning. The trails were in great shape, with fresh corduroy that provided good control. The trails were level, with plenty of coverage, and there was a track set as well. I also skated a few kilometers north of Mosquito Brook and the trails were also in very good condition.
