Trail Detail
Notes
The trail system consists of approximately fifteen miles of groomed trail and another ten of ungroomed backcountry routes. The more advanced trails are located north and west of Levis on Trow Mound, while intermediate and easy trails lay near the base of Levis Mound. All groomed trails are set with diagonal tracks and a skating lane averaging 12 feet wide. Depending on snow conditions, the trail is generally groomed twice per week. Trail passes are required. Facilities include a new cross-country ski chalet, running water, mens and womens bathrooms.Trail Reports

Perfect conditions at Levis today with mid 20's temperature, sunny blue skies, and fresh grooming. I'm not a skater, but from the skate ski depressions, it looked like the skate deck was a little soft. The classic tracks were deep, but sometimes depressed a little under your kick foot. Pole plants were generally good, but an occasional sinker occurred. Levis is notorious for oak leaves on the trail, but there wasn't a leaf to be seen today--all buried under the fluffy snow that fell the last few days. The only grooming problem was a couple lengthy groomer divots in the middle of two downhills on the back side of Trow Mound. The trail will probably firm up, so get out and enjoy great end of February skiing!

Most areas in great condition for skating (thin/no tracks), especially given the lack of recent snow. A few spots with leaves/debris. Lots of snow fleas. Worth the drive. Hit it in the morning.

Just a handful of skiers enjoying the great conditions at Levis. Great snow coverage and the crew was out grooming trails throughout the morning. Only a few sections of the trails were covered with sticks, pine needles and such from squirrels(?), but otherwise everything was great! Tracks looked pretty good, too.

classic skied out test track to trow trail to mound bounder, flat lander and then headed back in on trow trail and pine run to the cabin. Everything except a portion of trow trail had just been regroomed and in excellent condition - firm and fast. A section of trow trail had a bit of debris from recent winds. Skate deck was firm and seemed to be in great shape as well.

The classic tracks were firmly set and the skate deck was mostly untouched corduroy. 100% coverage, fast snow, and perfect grooming.

Classic track condition was good, often great. There are some short icy sections. There are some areas with pine needles. Overall, a beautiful day with great conditions. I don't skate, but the skate deck looked soft in many places.

The trails at Levis are surprisingly good, The skating deck is well covered with fresh snow on top of a crusty base and groomed. The "rails" also look good in most places. There are only a few spots where the pine needles still predominate, but one can avoid Pine Run and have fun.

Most of the trails are groomed and tracked, but the warm weather and rain followed by cold weather has resulted in trails that are icy. Many sections are also covered with needles and sticks protruding from frozen, rock hard snow. The trails need fresh snow.

The trails haven't been groomed for a while, but we served as "forerunners" for any other skiers by skiing East Levis, Jackrabbit Draw and Test Track. Once we had set a bit of track the skiing was fun. There are a lot of needles, but few actual branches on the trail.

Limbs down on many trails. Crews working to clear downfalls now and will work on setting deck in future. Follow snowmobile tracks for best skiing.
