All the new snow has created a winter wonderland at Levis. This afternoon all of the trail except for a small section on Flatlander were groomed and tracked. A number of skiers were striding and the tracks were quite fast, particularly on Bad Bear.

Relative to 17 inches of fairly dry snow 4 days previously, A+ conditions. As compared to white carpet Nirvana, a solid B-. Skate deck has some crowning and cupping in some areas as well as a few soft spots all of which can contribute to some technique challenges. Nothing that a little more snow and a few more groomer passes might not remedy. Well worth the trip; no regrets (well maybe excepting for skiing Moundbounder which is becoming "No Country for [this] old man" :-).

Very good to excellent conditions with solid classic tracks and firm skating deck. Minimal leafy debris--especially since forest is predominantly oak and pine. Only negative was occasional groomer scars at intersections and uphills from dealing with all the recent snow. Lots of people out today--parking lot nearly full. Grip was good--didn't have to herringbone with my woodies. Perfect winter day with sunshine and 22 degrees.

Trails are in excellent condition for both skating and classical. Well groomed. They received 17 inches of snow from the last snowstorm.

Skied at Levis Friday, Saturday and Sunday. They have so much snow it's ridiculous. Very good classic grooming.

The new snow at Levis was very skiable, thanks to the fine grooming of volunteers. I skied classical on a very cold day, but still had very decent glide. The best of the season at Levis!

I tried both techniques at Levis on Wednesday afternoon after the trails had been groomed in the morning. However, I was warned to be careful about the hill leading from the shelter because there was glare ice underneath the freshly fallen snow and it could be treacherous. So, I skated Bad Bear to West Levis and around with good results. The trail was pretty firm with good coverage. However, when I tried my classical skis on the same route I encountered stirred up leaves and some ice in the tracks. It was still skiable, but not as good as the skating lanes. Perhaps the bit of fresh snow that fell overnight will help.

I skied at Levis the last three days. Can't say enough good things about the groomers. They groomed on Tuesday and again Friday. Some leaves and pine needles, but Friday and today were pristine conditions. Thanks!

The trails are rolled, but not tracked and the cover is thin. I did classical and another person skated with acceptable results. It's better than the previous combination of grass and ice.
