Notes

The trail system consists of approximately fifteen miles of groomed trail and another ten of ungroomed backcountry routes. The more advanced trails are located north and west of Levis on Trow Mound, while intermediate and easy trails lay near the base of Levis Mound. All groomed trails are set with diagonal tracks and a skating lane averaging 12 feet wide. Depending on snow conditions, the trail is generally groomed twice per week. Trail passes are required. Facilities include a new cross-country ski chalet, running water, mens and womens bathrooms.

The classic tracks were firmly set and the skate deck was mostly untouched corduroy. 100% coverage, fast snow, and perfect grooming.

Evening
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: Most, Good skis ]
Classic track condition was good, often great. There are some short icy sections. There are some areas with pine needles. Overall, a beautiful day with great conditions. I don't skate, but the skate deck looked soft in many places.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Good skis ]
The trails at Levis are surprisingly good, The skating deck is well covered with fresh snow on top of a crusty base and groomed. The "rails" also look good in most places. There are only a few spots where the pine needles still predominate, but one can avoid Pine Run and have fun.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ B skis ]
Most of the trails are groomed and tracked, but the warm weather and rain followed by cold weather has resulted in trails that are icy. Many sections are also covered with needles and sticks protruding from frozen, rock hard snow. The trails need fresh snow.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic
[ Good skis ]
The trails haven't been groomed for a while, but we served as "forerunners" for any other skiers by skiing East Levis, Jackrabbit Draw and Test Track. Once we had set a bit of track the skiing was fun. There are a lot of needles, but few actual branches on the trail.

Limbs down on many trails. Crews working to clear downfalls now and will work on setting deck in future. Follow snowmobile tracks for best skiing.
