Afternoon
Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
We groomed all skate loops and groomed and tracked all classic loops this morning. Far better than yesterday's results. Much of yesterday's wind litter is now covered, although it will take another snowfall to entirely clean it up. I would rate all loops good to excellent at this time. Snowshoe loops are receiving heavy use as is the skating rink at the warming building.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Groomed all skate loops except Mary's Frolic this morning. Chainsawed my way around Bruce's Roundabout. Had to take a 24" diameter dead white pine out of trail. Most of the skate deck is good to very good except for all the litter blown down yesterday; needles and cones in the pines, twigs and branches in the hardwoods. Not too icy after careful tilling through a shallow deck. All classic loops except Long Rider and Wild Thing are groomed and tracked. Tracks range from very good to mediocre. Will finish the remainder tomorrow morning. I wish someone would invent something like a lawn vacuum so we wouldn't need more snow to cover the litter. Snowshoe loops are packed and in great condition.

Afternoon
Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Groomed and tracked all classic trails this morning except for Wild Thing. It still has skiable tracks from the last grooming. Groomed all skate trails except for Mary's Frolic and Roller Coaster. It was getting too warm and snow was beginning to clump so had to leave those loops for next time. Much better trail coverage now, although the last 1.5k heading back to warming building still has stretches of dirt and leaves mixed in. Snowshoe loops were freshly stomped this morning.

Evening
Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Regroomed part of the system Wednesday night, working with about 1-1/2-inches of new snow that fell. On the skate side did Ridge Trail, Will's Crossing and Mary's Frolic. On classic side did Shortcut, Pine Hollow and Hair Raiser. Most of it seemed to turn out pretty good, but even with that small amount of new snow I started turning up dirt and litter on some short stretches that are always troublesome early on. At this point I plan on leaving the rest of the trails as-is until we get more snow. Skaters will have that small amount of snow on top of a very firm base to ski through on Long Rider and Bruce's Roundabout. Tracks are still plainly visible and quite skiable on Doug's Folly, Lions Pride and Oak Ridge.

Afternoon
Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
All loops were groomed yesterday. Tracks set on all classic loops. For the most part, probably 85-90 percent, the skate deck is very good. Tracks vary from excellent to iffy, again, a fairly high percentage is good to very good with some sketchy stretches. Both snowshoe loops have gotten use and are good to go. There have been several changes made this year to both skate and classic loops. Some new classic loops and two loops formerly groomed for both techniques are now skate-groomed only. New brochures won't come from printer until January, but there are copies of the new trail map itself in the warming building. Remember, maintenance of Razorback Ridges is done with all volunteer labor. No trail fee is charged, so the Lions club needs your donations to maintain the excellent conditions the system is known for. Please contribute in the donation box located in the warming building.

Afternoon
Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Most of the loops were packed last weekend. With new snow falling yesterday we now have about 8 inches on the ground. We will be packing all trails on Thursday and Friday. I am hopeful that there might be enough of a base to set at least a shallow track. At this time I believe B skis could be used, but once I finish grooming for the weekend I may be able to upgrade that.
Skiers should be aware that there are trail changes at Razorback this winter. Suicide Hill has been removed from the system for safety purposes. Will's Crossing is now groomed skate only. Short cuts on Long Rider skate loop have been eliminated. Ridge Trail is now skate groomed only. On the classic side Short Cut now takes the place of Ridge Trail for a short 3.3k loop. Part of Hair Raiser will now be skied in a reverse direction. A new trail leads to the reverse section, Pine Hollow. A new section has been added to get skiers to Hair Raiser, Lions Pride and a new loop, Oak Ridge. New maps will be available soon, until then pay attention to new intersection signs as a guide.
