[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
After reading reports of good skiing at 9 Mile we went to investigate. Air temp was 38 degrees. Parking lot a skating rink. But the trails rated an honest fair to very good. Classic tracks still good with little ice. Some debris, mostly leaves and twigs, with a couple small spots of dirt in the skating deck. Universal klister worked great. Actually quite a nice and comfortable ski. Used our B skis but don't think our good skis would have suffered any damage.

Be advised all denizens of the Great Brown South of I-94, it is worth the drive to 9Mile, despite all the rain, warm temps, and ice storms the past few days. The trails are terrific. We had fast skis with temps in high 30's and fog. Go Pack!

Trails were freshly groomed and in great condition for the Milwaukee Nordic Ski Club today. Repeated freeze-thaws of the deep base have lead to firm conditions with transformed snow - very fun to ski on. A bit of debris has left some dirty snow, but mostly very good conditions, even in the rain.

Skied both the 10K and 6K loops several times today. Conditions were perfect. Grooming was amazing. Tracks were set early for classic skiing. Excellent condition. Started with my B skis, but quickly changed them out after one 10k loop.

All trails groomed and tracked with Piston Bully. Still plenty of snow for deep base. Some debris as usual. Very good skiing for both disciplines.

Strided most of trails between 10am and 12pm. Groomer had put in fresh track for most of Nine mile trails. Tremendous glide but no kick for me. Klister, skins needed? Great coverage, minor leaves and debris. Did not see any skaters all morning. Beautiful day to be out, thank you groomers for your terrific work!

Trails will open again Wednesday. Most trails will be groomed in the early morning. Conditions are good as far as quantity of base, but a high moisture content due to rainfall.

A great day for skiing Nine Mile today! Skied at least 47-km in 3 outings: 10-km warm up, 17-km all over the place, and the 20-km marked loop. Groomer was everywhere perfecting what was well-used over the weekend. Negotiating multiple left and right turns on the Alps was a fun challenge. The climbs gave the heart a good workout. Good to see many locals, people from the southern part of WI where we have no skiing, and even some folks from Iowa who must be scrambling to get ready for the Birkie.

Looked like the UP in Wausau with their abundance of snow. Excellent for classic and OK for skating. Tracks were fun, fast and in very good shape. Some skate lanes good, some heavily used and needed grooming. Surprised and disappointed all skate lanes were not regroomed after heavy use on Saturday. Joanie and I strided the 20K loop plus a bit more. Skated several short loops to round out our visit.
